Tom Brady ESPN NFT Autograph Partnership

ESPN has inked a multi-year deal with Tom Brady’s Autograph NFT platform, with the sports broadcaster’s inaugural NFT collection following closely. Aptly, the NFT collection will be based on its ‘Man in the Arena: Tom Brady’ ten-part documentary, which delves deep into the tale behind the legend’s unprecedented NFL legacy.

Both the series’ first episode and the NFT collection dropped on Wednesday April 6th, with the latter consisting of three magazine covers focused on ESPN’s 14 special edition issues, which have each been written by the man himself. 50 editions of these NFT covers will be signed by Brady, and once the tenth and last episode of the docuseries airs, a second NFT collection called ‘Back in the Arena’ will drop.

In wake of the announcement, Dillon Rosenblatt, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive officer at Autograph, said in statement: “As the first NFT partner for ESPN, the possibilities across sports and technology are endless, and we couldn’t be more excited to get this content out to the world in a massive way”.

That being said, excitement for the endeavour has not been unanimously observed across Brady’s monumental following, as many fans have hinted that they never asked for NFT content, whilst others have expressed that they don’t even know what it is. In conclusion, such displays of adverseness to the digital asset is a prime example of the glaring gap that continues to exist between the sporting and NFT realms.
